Doula support in Worthing & West Sussex — warm, calm, and entirely for you.

I'm Mai. I'm a birth and postnatal doula based in Worthing, and I support families across Brighton, Hove, Shoreham, Lancing, Chichester, and the wider West Sussex area.

Having a baby is one of the biggest things you'll ever do. You deserve to feel informed, held, and genuinely supported — not just cared for medically, but truly seen as a person. That's what I'm here for: to walk alongside you through pregnancy, birth, and into those precious and sometimes overwhelming early days with your baby.

You deserve more than just getting through it

Pregnancy and birth can be profound, beautiful, and at times completely overwhelming. Midwives work incredibly hard — but they simply can’t always stay beside you throughout your entire labour. That’s where I come in.

When you have a doula with you, the research is clear.

  • Reduces the risk of Caesarean birth by up to 39% (Cochrane review of nearly 16,000 women)

  • Shortens labour by an average of 41 minutes

  • 31% less likely to have a negative birth experience overall

  • More than 50% less likely to experience postnatal depression.

These aren't small numbers. They reflect something we know intuitively: when you feel held, heard, and supported, birth goes better.

My role is to give you the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices — choices that will have a real impact not just on your birth, but on your postnatal experience and how you begin life with your baby.

Let's have a chat — no pressure, no commitment

Choosing a doula is a personal decision, and the most important thing is that you feel genuinely comfortable with the person who'll be by your side. A free consultation is simply a chance to meet, ask anything you'd like, and see whether we feel like a good fit. There's no commitment, no obligation — just a conversation.

I support families in Worthing, Brighton, Hove, Shoreham, Lancing, Chichester, and across West Sussex. If you're slightly further afield, please still get in touch — I'm always happy to discuss.

Hi, I'm Mai — and I think your birth experience matters more than you've been told.

Not just whether everyone comes out safely — though of course that matters most — but how it feels. Whether you felt heard. Whether your choices were respected. Whether you look back on it with pride rather than just relief.

I came to doula work because I believe that feeling truly supported in birth changes everything. I'm based in Worthing, and I've had the privilege of walking alongside families through some of the most significant moments of their lives. Every one of those experiences has reminded me why this work matters. I'm warm, practical, evidence-based, and completely non-judgemental. Whether you're planning a home water birth, a hospital epidural, or a planned Caesarean — I'm in your corner.
